Hello 4-H friends & family!

Allow me to introduce myself, please. My name is Erin, and I’m the new 4-H agent in Estill County. I’m so excited for this opportunity, and what we’ll be able to do together. I’ve lived in Estill County for 16 years and have been involved with our 4-H and Extension office over the last 4 to 5 years. I have tons of experience with animals, leadership, crafting, events, education, and more! You may have seen me around our area volunteering or supporting our local area in various ways.

I’m married and have two daughters. I have 4-legged babies too! A lovable poodle named Winston, and a big fat kitty named Scratch. I also have tons of brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews. I love my entire family dearly! We love to have fun together, and we laugh a lot. My hobbies and interests include traveling, crafting, animals, staying busy, and doing anything creative. I’ve also been helping as a local Girl Scout Troop leader, and as an assistant coach for the West Irvine Junior Winter Guard. I love being active in our community, and supporting organizations, especially youth, where I can.

I cannot wait to help our 4-H programs grow! I’ve already been the 4-H Photography Club leader for 2 years, and that’s been great. We’ve learned a lot. However, there’s room for so many more programs to offer through our office. We’ve got big plans that I hope everyone will be happy to see.

In addition to our long-standing clubs like Cloverbud, Teen Council, Cooking, Photography, Shooting Sports, Goat/Sheep, and Horticulture, we’ve recently added a Bug Club. This is very exciting! Youth can learn more about, or how not to be afraid, of bugs and insects. Our Ag Agent, Emma Lee, is heading up that club, and has some great activities in store. This one is going to be fun for all ages!

New projects, programs, and camps on the horizon include:

  • Hand Embroidery Class
  • Home Environment & Art Camp
  • Day Camp
  • 4-H Camp
  • Estill County 4-H Expo
  • State Fair

I look forward to meeting everyone and making new friends. My wish is for more youth and volunteer involvement in our current and upcoming programs. If there’s something you’d like to see offered, feel free to call me to discuss. I want our youth to have as much exposure to opportunities as possible, and I want to help them learn and grow. There’s a world of options, and together we can make our organization even better.

Thanks for being a part of our Estill County 4-H family, and I hope we can continue to grow our family tree together. Our roots are strong, and our future is bright!
